About Hospital

• Akdeniz University Hospital, Antalya is one of the largest and most advanced healthcare facilities in southern Turkey.
• Located in the city of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast, Akdeniz University Hospital is a tertiary hospital with a national and international reputation for providing high-quality medical care.
• The hospital has a total area of 853,000 square meters and consists of nine wings with a total capacity of more than 1,000 beds.
• The hospital has a well-equipped emergency department with 24-hour coverage, six operating theaters, three specialty hospitals and two children's hospitals. In addition, the hospital has a burns unit, an intensive care unit and a pharmacy. Moreover, the hospital provides medical services to more than 1,00,000 patients annually.
• Akdeniz University Hospital is the only university hospital in Antalya with a specialty in cardiology and heart surgery.

Awards and Recognition

• Akdeniz University Hospital, Antalya, is one of the most prestigious hospitals in Turkey. It has been awarded many times with awards such as "The Best Hospitals in Turkey" and "The Best Medical Center of the Year".
• It has been awarded the prestigious "European Hospital of the Year" award for 2017. This prestigious award is given to hospitals that exhibit excellence in patient care and nursing standards. 
• The hospital has been awarded the prestigious “Gold Award for Excellence in Healthcare” by the World Health Organization (WHO) during its International Conference on Patient Safety and Quality in Istanbul. This award is the first of its kind given to a Turkish hospital. 
• Akdeniz University Hospital, Antalya has been awarded the prestigious “Ozalp Award” by the Turkish Medical Association for its excellent work in cardiac care.
• The hospital also received an award from the Minister of Health for its work on liver transplantation.

Accreditation and Certification

• Akdeniz University Hospital has been awarded with several accreditations, such as "A+" by the Turkish Foundation for Health Care Excellence and "European Certificate of Accreditation" by the European Health Accreditation agency.
• It is the first university hospital in Turkey to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI).
• Akdeniz University Hospital has been awarded full accreditation by the Turkish Accreditation Committee (TÜK) for its medical programs. This is the fifth time that Akdeniz University Hospital has been accredited.
• The hospital is one of only six hospitals in Turkey that have received both JCI and the Turkish Accreditation Board for Health Care Organizations (TOBB) accreditation.
• The hospital has also been awarded "Gold" status by JCI. The recognition reflects the hospital's high standards of care, its commitment to patient safety, and its ability to meet all JCI core requirements.
