• Since its founding in 1821, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) has progressed a long way to solidify itself as the country's foremost and biggest hospital that performs dual roles as a tertiary referral hospital and an educational medical center.

• It is a flagship hospital for the public healthcare system, wholly owned by the Singaporean government and a part of the SingHealth network of medical facilities.

• The Joint Commission International has granted SGH accreditation to uphold patient safety and healthcare quality requirements.

Speciality 

• SGH provides collaborative care, which doctors deliver, nurses, and allied health specialists. Within one facility, the hospital offers a wide variety of health care. On the SGH Campus, 5 National Specialist Centers are situated side by side, allowing for a holistic framework for treatment.

• The SGH Campus serves almost 1 million patients annually. With a crew of 10,000, SGH is responsible for one-fifth of acute beds worldwide and nearly a quarter of all chronic hospital beds in the public sector.

• SGH is situated in Singapore's Central Region on Third Hospital Avenue, spanning a sizable site.

• From Singapore Changi Airport, it takes 23 minutes.

• There are taxi stands nearby, many bus stations around the location, and Outram Park is the closest metro stop for commuting.

• Within 4 to 10 minutes of the university, many eateries and cafés may be reached by automobile.

• Within five minutes or more, several hotels and other lodgings are available.

Infrastructure

• The National Cancer Center Singapore, National Dental Center Singapore, National Heart Center Singapore, National Neuroscience Institute, and the Singapore National Eye Center are among the five national speciality centers on the SGH campus.

• With a workforce of 9888, it can accommodate 1785 beds.

• Guide dogs are permitted for blind or visually challenged patients, and wheelchair shuttle services are also offered.
