• The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Kochi is a premier healthcare institution in Kerala, India. Established in 1984, it is one of the oldest and largest private healthcare institutions in the state. 
• The hospital is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Healthcare Organizations (NABHCO) and has been awarded an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). 
• It offers a wide range of advanced medical services including specialities such as cardiac care, cancer treatment, dialysis, stem cell therapy and otolaryngology. The hospital has over 1,000 beds and employs over 2,000 staff.

Awards

• In the year 2016, the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Kochi received the Award for Excellence in Healthcare from the Kerala State Council of Health. The following year, it was given the National Quality Award by National Health Mission (NHM) for its contributions to quality healthcare. 
• In 2018, it was conferred the “Best Private Institutions” award by the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). 
• The Amrita Institute is also a recipient of several international awards such as the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award (2012), 100 Best Hospitals in Asia – China Region Awards (2013), Asia Pacific Quality Forum’s Leadership Award in Healthcare 2016-17 and World Health Organization's Medal for Distinguished Contributions to Global Health 2017.

Accreditation

• Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Kochi, Kerala was granted an "A" Grade by the National Accreditation and Inspection Commission (NAIC) on January 12, 2016. The institute is accredited with a total of 7 out of 9 categories as per NAIC standards. The institute has been awarded a three-year full accreditation cycle starting from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2019. 
• The institute has an annual intake capacity of 50 beds and provides medical education in the areas of general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics & gynecology. 
• The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Kochi was accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Medical Institutions and Health Sciences with an overall grade of 'A' in the 9th cycle of accreditation. 
• This is the highest possible accreditation that the National Accreditation Board for Medical Institutions and Health Sciences provides. 
• The institute has met all the criteria specified by NABMIHS for an 'A' grade, including high levels of institutional performance, commitment to quality improvement, and provision of safe and effective health care.
