About Hospital
- Adventist Penang Hospital was established in 1924 by DR J. Earl Gardner. It is a part of an International Adventist Network of some 600 not-for-profit hospitals, clinics and dispensaries all over the world.
- The hospital today is a leading tertiary healthcare facility with a bedding capacity of 254 beds comprising 10 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 9 high dependency unit (HDU) beds and 10 neonatal ICU (NICU) beds.
- Adventist Penang Hospital is supported by dedicated physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals, and employs modern medical equipment to provide quality healthcare.

Accreditation and Certification
- Adventist Penang Hospital has been conferred with the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation with its “Gold Seal of Approval” in 2007. The hospital is currently in its 5th Cycle of the accreditation from 2019 – 2022.
- The hospital is in its 6th cycle of accreditation from The Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) from 2019-2023.
- The hospital has also received accreditation from The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), an organization launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The hospital is in its 5th Cycle of the accreditation from 2017 – 2022.
- Adventist Penang Hospital is also the first hospital in Malaysia to be a member of the Health Promoting Hospital Network (HPH) since 2013 and is accredited by HPH. Initiated by the World Health Organization, the mission of HPH network is to improve the quality of health care of both hospital patients and staff through evidence-based health promotion services.
