• He was first in India to perform the off pump (beating heart) bypass surgery in 1992.
• He beholds the prestigious tag of pioneering the minimally invasive bypass surgery in India in 1994.

• Later in the year 1999, he performed India’s first awake heart surgery, i.e. a surgery without the use of a ventilator.
